One of the earliest converts to Islam and supporters of Prophet Muhammad (SallaAllahu'alayhi wa salam) was his cousin Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam (RadhiaAllahu'anhu). He accepted Islam when he was only fifteen years old, in spite of the small number of Muslims at that time. He grew up to be a great hero and warrior for the cause of the Muslims. He was considered one of the senior Companions of the Prophet (SallaAllahu'alayhi wa salam) and was one of the ten whom the Prophet (SallaAllahu'alayhi wa salam) publicly promised entry into Paradise. Due to his enthusiasm and eagerness to support the Prophet (SallaAllahu'alayhi wa salam) and his readiness to carry out the Prophet's orders, the Prophet (SallaAllahu'alayhi wa salam) said: "Every Prophet has a disciple. My disciple is Az-Zubair."
