The Sunnah prescribes when leaving from the house to be in a state of humility due to the statement of the Prophet (sallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam):
“When one of you performs ablution and does so well, then he leaves intending to go to the masjid, then let him not intertwine his fingers, for indeed he is in prayer.”
When leaving his house, even if the reason is not going to pray one should say, as mentioned in the hadith,
“In the name of Allāh, I believe in Him, I take refuge to Allāh, I rely upon Him, and there is no might or strength unless Allāh gives it to us. O Allāh, verily I seek refuge with You from leaving or being led astray, or against slipping or being caused to slip; or oppressing (others) or being oppressed; or behaving foolishly or someone behaving foolishly towards me.”
