Muhammad Ismaeel Al-Bukhari began seeking hadith at the age of 10.. He said “I compiled my book Al-Jami-al-Sahih over a period of 16 years and i extracted it from over 600,000 Ahadith. and I made it as an evidence between myself and Allah The Most High”. Imam Bukhari said “When i wrote ahadith i would not do so in the manner of others, if i was to write a narration from a man I would ask for his name and his kunyah and ask him for his descent and his origin and i would ask how has the hadith reached you. and then I wanted to know if the narrator was a person of sound comprehension. If he was not I would say bring me the manuscript in which you have wrote the narration. He also said “I wrote narrations from over a thousand scholars from each one over ten thousand ahadith, and i do not have any hadith except that i can remember its chain of narration”.
